Chelsea FC news: Video of all of Michy Batshuayi goals for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga
Michy Batshuayi had a great half season in Germany
Michy Batshuayi’s decision to join Borussia Dortmund on loan was clearly a good one.
The striker was not getting a chance at Chelsea and left in January where he seven times in 10 Bundesliga matches to help the German club qualify for the Champions League.
“They welcomed me very warmly. I was in a good environment and you could see that on the pitch,” he said.
“It was a while since I had played so much. I can’t remember being allowed to play two games in a row at Chelsea. It was good to gain confidence.
“I don’t have a preference; they’re two beautiful clubs. My focus is on the World Cup right now and I don’t want to think about what happens afterwards.”
His season was cut short in April through injury, but Belgium manager Roberto Martinez is hopeful he will be fit and named him in his preliminary squad for the World Cup.
Chelsea spent £60m on Alvaro Morata last summer, but the striker managed to scored just 11 Premier League goals, with Eden Hazard top scoring with 12 in the league. Defender Marcos Alonso, meanwhile was the third highest league scorer with seven.
