Liverpool alerted as Barcelona open door on cut-price Ousmane Dembele exit – Spanish media
Dembele suffered a difficult first season at the Nou Camp following his move from Borussia Dortmund.
A hamstring tear put the youngster out of action for three months and he struggled to make an impact on his return.
He netted just three times in 17 La Liga appearances and admitted he was frustrated with his performances.
Manager Ernesto Valverde has not been convinced by him and a result, Barca are prepared to offload Dembele for significantly less than the £125m they paid for him.
Liverpool have recently been heavily linked with a summer move for the 21-year-old star.
Barcelona’s possible starting XI next season with Ousmane Dembele
Boss Jurgen Klopp still has money to spend and he was recently described as ‘being in love’ with Dembele.
When the German manager was asked whether he was interested in signing the Barca ace, he replied: “Is he on the market? Now I’m interested.”
Spanish publication OK Diario claims that the Catalan side would be prepared to let the France international leave for £87m.
The Reds signed Fabinho from £45m on Monday and will look to strengthen further in the wake of their Champions League final defeat.
Klopp is also a keen admirer of Lyon’s talisman Nabil Fekir who would cost significantly less than Demblele.
Liverpool also need to splash the cash on a new goalkeeper after Loris Karius proved against Real Madrid that his fallibilities have not diminished.
