Manchester United transfer news LIVE updates: All the latest from Old Trafford

Diego Costa on Antoine Griezmann

Manchester United and Barcelona won’t want to hear Diego Costa’s prediction on Antoine Griezmann’s future.

The former Chelsea star believes Griezmann will stick with Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid, despite the constant rumours linking him with a mega-money departure.

“He is taking a little time to say what is next for him and I think there is perhaps some doubt on his part,” Costa told a news conference.

“If he leaves, we also must be happy because he’s given us a title this season but, in the end, I think he’ll stay.”

Matteo Darmian medical

Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian will undergo a medical with Juventus tomorrow, reports claim.

The Italy international, 28, rarely made Jose Mourinho’s starting XI and now looks on the verge of leaving Old Trafford.

According to Italian publication Sportitalia, the two parties struck a £10.5million fee weeks ago.

They continue to add that Darmian was spotted in Milan today and will have his medical tomorrow in Turin.

Darmian could be one of multiple departures at Old Trafford as speculation continues over the future of Daley Blind, Anthony Martial, and Luke Shaw, while divisive midfielder Marouane Fellaini’s contract expires this summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo return

Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello thinks Cristiano Ronaldo wants a return to Manchester United.

Capello’s comments come shortly after Zinedine Zidane announced that he would be stepping down as Real Madrid coach, less than a week after leading the Spanish club to a third straight Champions League triumph.

“I think that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to go back to Manchester, to play for United and being coached by his compatriot Mourinho,” Capello told Sky Italia.

“Real Madrid would need to recover from Ronaldo’s loss in terms of goals scored. The only available name at the moment is Robert Lewandowski.”

Alex Sandro update

It doesn’t look like Chelsea or Manchester United will be signing Juventus star Alex Sandro.

The Premier League duo have frequently been tipped to sign the Brazilian full-back, whose contract expires in June 2020.

But reports from Italy say the 27-year-old has been offered a three-year extension with the Serie A champions.

Juventus will increase Sandro’s wages beyond his current £84,000 per-week.

Diogo Dalot worry

Manchester United target Diogo Dalot could join the Red Devils today.

Jose Mourinho has identified Porto defender Dalot as Antonio Valenica’s long-term replacement at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have been tracking the 19-year-old for months and United have met Dalot’s £17.5m (€20m) buyout clause.

However, according to The Times, United are considering paying over the odds to ensure they land the right-back today.

They say Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are ready to meet Dalot’s release clause, which has left Mourinho worried.

Manchester United may instead pay £19m today to complete the deal ahead of their rivals.

30 days…

Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Real Madrid for a stunning Manchester United return within the next 30 days, according to reports.

Ronaldo is being linked with a Manchester United return after plunging his Real Madrid future into doubt.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon say United hope to re-sign their former No 7 in the next 30 days.

They are currently waiting to see if Ronaldo definitely wants to leave the Bernabeu.

Jorge Mendes, who also represents Jose Mourinho, is currently key to any deal.

The super-agent, Don Balon say, wants a resolution to his client’s future within the next month.

Gareth Bale demands

Gareth Bale wants Real Madrid to grant him the same status as Cristiano Ronaldo – or a stunning move to Manchester United may happen.

Real Madrid are currently reeling from the shock departure of Zinedine Zidane, and the Daily Mail say Bale could yet leave for Manchester United despite Zidane going.

The newspaper claim Bale wants Real Madrid to assure him of a starring role, like they do with Ronaldo.

And, should they fail to do so, United are ready to welcome him to Old Trafford.

Express Sport understands United are aggressively pursuing a deal with Jose Mourinho determined to land his man.

Jose Mourinho wants Real Madrid duo

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is looking to sign TWO Real Madrid players this summer, reports claim.

Speculation over the future of Gareth Bale is rife after he hinted he may be willing to leave the Bernabeu.

Spanish website Don Balon claim the Portuguese tactician has a ploy to bring Bale, 29, back to the Premier League.

It’s said Mourinho will make the Welsh international his primary attacking outlet – thus giving him the opportunity to bag more goals.

Not content with one, the Manchester United manager is also interested in signing midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

Kovacic, who has previously been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal, has struggled to establish himself in Madrid and could be tempted by the promise of regular first-team football.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic updates

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s agent is staying coy about the chances of the midfielder leaving Lazio.

Manchester United are in the hunt for Milinkovic-Savic’s signature as they look to bolster Jose Mourinho’s squad for next season.

Reports have claimed a mega £88m-plus (€100m) deal could be in the offing with the Old Trafford gaffer desperate to get his man.

Milinkovic-Savic is represented by former Serbia striker Mateja Kezman, best remembered in England for a sorry spell at Chelsea.

And Kezman has been discussing his client’s future with the transfer window now open and plenty of moves already in the works.

“We agree that it is one of the biggest products of the last season in Europe, but I do not want to talk about numbers,” Kezman told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, when asked about Lazio’s £88m-plus valuation.

“It is clear that the figures are going up a lot right now, so…”

Zinedine Zidane’s secret reason…

Zinedine Zidane’s decision to quit Real Madrid stems from Manchester United transfer talk, a report has claimed.

It leaves Los Blancos facing a summer headache with a new boss now on the list of priorities alongside keeping Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale out of Manchester United’s clutches.

Speaking at his press conference, Zidane insisted Bale and Ronaldo’s future was not behind his thinking.

But Spanish newspaper Marca say it is possible the Frenchman was swayed by talk over Bale.

United are understood to be keen to sign the 28-year-old from Real Madrid this summer.

Bale has always had the backing of Florentino Perez – something that has prevented Zidane from selling him in the past.

And, with United now aggressively circling, the Frenchman has chosen to quit before colliding with the 71-year-old.

Marca say Zidane may also have chosen to walk away having grown exhausted by the task of managing the La Liga giants.
