Tottenham Hotspur team news: Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris out of Watford game with thigh injury

Captain out

The captain, arrested for drink-driving a week ago, will not feature in the Premier League match, with midfielder Moussa Sissoko also joining him in the treatment room. Victor Wanyama, meanwhile, is back in full training

Tottenham will be without captain Hugo Lloris and midfielder Moussa Sissoko against Watford on Sunday.

A thigh injury has ruled the goalkeeper out, while his compatriot’s hamstring keeps him sidelined.

News of Lloris’ injury comes a week after the 31-year-old was arrested for drink-driving.

Mauricio Pochettino, his manager, stuck by him and he played in Spurs’ 3-0 win against Manchester United, but news of his injury will come as a blow.

Tottenham have won all three of their games so far and also explained Victor Wanyama is back in full training following his knee injury. Erik Lamela, who has had a hamstring issue, will be assessed ahead of the Watford match.
